Xiaomi 18 Reports Point to Late-2026 China Launch as Key Details Remain Unconfirmed

Reports and regulatory filings have renewed speculation about a possible Xiaomi 18 smartphone, but Xiaomi has yet to officially confirm the device or disclose when it will go on sale.

A model identified as 2611FPNFAG appeared in European certification records in July 2026 and was later listed in Taiwan’s regulator database on September 9. Technology outlets have associated the model with a possible global Xiaomi 18, although Xiaomi has not confirmed that identification.

Possible launch timing

Reports suggest that Xiaomi could introduce the standard Xiaomi 18 in China after the Xiaomi 18 Pro models, with the launch expected toward the end of 2026. December has been mentioned as a possible target month, but no fixed date has been announced.

There is also no confirmed global launch date or launch country. European and Taiwanese certification activity does not guarantee that the phone will be sold in Nigeria, and Xiaomi has not announced Nigerian availability.

Leaked specifications remain unsettled

Leaks describe the standard Xiaomi 18 as a possible compact flagship with a flat OLED display measuring between 6.3 and 6.4 inches. Reports have also linked the phone to Qualcomm’s standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, potentially manufactured using a 2nm process. Neither Xiaomi nor Qualcomm has confirmed the reported pairing or the wider performance details.

Camera information remains uncertain. One report points to a possible 200MP periscope telephoto camera, while other leaks may combine details from different prototypes or from the standard and Pro models. The final sensors, apertures, zoom capabilities, Leica branding and video features have not been established.

Battery reports range from 7,000mAh to 7,800mAh, with 7,200mAh appearing most frequently. Certification coverage supports 100W wired charging and lists 256GB and 512GB storage capacities. A 50W wireless charging capability has been mentioned in leak roundups, but it has not been confirmed by certification.

Reports also suggest that the phone could run HyperOS 4 based on Android 17. Xiaomi has not confirmed the launch software, Android version or update policy.

Price and Nigerian availability

The Xiaomi 18’s official price is not known. For context, the Xiaomi 17 started at CNY 4,499 in China, while its global 12GB/256GB version was listed at 999 euros and the 12GB/512GB model at 1,099 euros. Those figures do not represent estimates or confirmed prices for the Xiaomi 18.

Imported Chinese units could reach buyers before any global or Nigerian release. However, such devices may differ from international versions in software, network bands, eSIM support, built-in applications and warranty coverage.

Until Xiaomi makes an official announcement, the reported launch schedule, specifications, pricing and Nigerian release plans should be treated as unconfirmed.
